The Woburn Inn is set for a major redevelopment, as the second phase of refurbishment work has begun on the iconic 18th century hotel.

FSG Property Services have started work on refurbishing 20 of the Woburn Inn’s 48 bedrooms, extending them and renovating the adjoining en-suite bathrooms.

The second phase of work began on 19 December and is expected to be completed in mid-March this year. This follows the renovation of 18 rooms at the Woburn Inn by FSG Property Services in the first phase of work, which began in December 2010.

The work was commissioned by the Duke of Bedford to completely refurbish the Woburn Inn, which is the centerpiece of the Woburn estate and the main hotel.

Once the work has been completed, the third phase of the project is expected to include a major refurbishment of the existing building.

To see the work that FSG Property Services are doing at the Woburn Inn and the new rooms, like our Facebook page and keep up to date with what’s going on.

A primary school in Nottingham will now be able to run on cheap electricity, after FSG Energy installed hundreds of solar panels on the roof of the school.

Dovecote Primary School, which is based in the Clifton area of the city, can now reap the benefits of renewable energy, after FSG Energy installed 200 solar panels on the roof of the school, making it one of the largest publicly owned arrays in Nottingham.

As part of Nottingham City Council’s Commercial PV Framework, FSG Energy installed the solar panels, which will generate an estimated 36,000 kWh of electricity and save 20 tonnes of carbon dioxide each year.

FSG installed the solar panels in just 7 days, with the savings expected to be considerable, as the solar panels are expected to save the school £3000 a year in electricity bills.

As well as producing electricity for the primary school, the solar panels will teach the children about the values of renewable energy, with the school set to teach the children about the environment and what they can do to help.

Councillor Alan Clark, who is responsible for Energy at Nottingham City Council, says:

“This is the latest example of the city wide approach that is being taken to carbon reduction in Nottingham. This project will further secure our position as the most energy self-sufficient city in the UK.”

“Not only will the occupiers benefit from the cuts in their bills, but the money we get back from the FiTs will be re-invested in other energy efficiency initiatives in the future. We expect these panels at Dovecote to generate approximately £13,000 for the Council in the first 12 months.”

FSG Energy Director Jon Lennox says:

“As the council wanted the solar panels installed before the FiT cuts took effect, we managed to complete the project in 10 working days, (instead of the normal 20 days) so they could benefit from the maximum tariff.

We are very proud to have assisted Nottingham City Council in achieving their aims and hope to work with them in the future.”
